Change #1
A reflection on change as sustained alignment over time, emphasizing consistency and awareness over intensity or isolated decisions.
Change is maintained, not just initiated. I am beginning to see that change is not just about starting something new—it is about sustaining and deepening it over time.
In the past, I associated change with a moment—deciding to do something differently and expecting that decision to carry forward on its own.
Recovery is teaching me that what matters is what happens after the decision—whether I can repeat it, maintain it, and stay consistently aligned with it over time.
Change also becomes more subtle. It is not always visible or dramatic. Sometimes it appears through small adjustments in thinking, behavior, and awareness.
This also connects directly to consistency, because change is not proven in a single action—it is reflected in patterns. It also requires awareness, because if I do not notice when I drift, I can slip back into old patterns without realizing it.
For me, change is less about intensity and more about stability—less about dramatic shifts and more about consistent alignment. Today, I am focusing on maintaining what I have started and making small adjustments where needed.
